This wine bar in the Hackney Road neighborhood was renovated by its owner, Michael Sager, who created a bar with old London cobblestones and installed huge windows that flood the place with light. Offering great wines by the glass and a litany of the best of modern winemaking by the bottle, the bar is often packed with Londoners sampling everything from Pét Nats to Pinots. Cocktails play a supporting role here, but they take on greater prominence at Sager's sister location down the street, where Marcis Dzelzainis has created inventive flavor combinations.
