EMILIANO TURANO OCHOA
A meticulous and intuitive winemaker, Emiliano Turano Ochoa is leading the revival of Château d’Ancón with a contemporary lens on high-altitude viticulture. Trained at the National University of Cuyo, his path has taken him through formative experiences in Mendoza and a transformative chapter in Europe, where he worked on biodynamic projects—including an internship at the iconic Azienda Agricola Foradori in Italy.
In La Carrera, at over 1,400 metres above sea level, Emiliano approaches a stark, luminous terroir with precision, humility, and a quiet devotion to the landscape. His work fuses refined technique with an unwavering pursuit of purity, focusing on micro-vinifications of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that honour both the century-old heritage of the site and its unfolding promise.
The wines he crafts—restrained, taut, vibrant—speak volumes. They evoke the mountains, the passing of time, the ties of family, and a new Argentine wine identity that is beginning to look outward, from the very heart of the Andes.
